Sorry a day late on this one. School started this week and many hours of homework per day… though it’s really fun homework! Well, if you call math fun. Which I do!
It’s Bactine! Human turned heroine turned myth, whose monument became the sole survivor of her generation’s distant descendants, and thus stood alone untold ages later to greet (and baffle) the intrepid explorer who crossed the stars to land on her enigmatic planet.
Okay, wild and almost baseless (hey, it *really looks* like Bactine) speculation now over.
he’s rather impatient at this point, isn’t he? he hasn’t explored the whole planet yet. and besides, couldn’t a civilization have existed, died, and left its mark? but anyway, it would be cool if you were wrong, phenoca, and she came to life! but she is kind of…on a pedestal. i think she’s a statue as well. and you, wayfarer-the-wordsmith, any connection to wayfarer’s moon?
“wayfarer-the-wordsmith” – Hehe! You have made me happy!
But no, no connection to Wayfarer’s Moon (though I have run across it). I believe I recognize you from comments over at XyliaTales, though. If you’ve seen a Wayfarer around there, it would probably be me.
Spas, I think it is very unreasonable for the only thing left of a civilization to be one statue in perfect condition. There doesn’t seem to be any weathering on her and there are no other signs of civilization other than the steps. If anything, it is more likely that there is a living civilization and that the statue is relatively new. What I actually think happened/will happen, I will keep to myself since I too have read Pygmalion… (granted, I am probably wrong on every last detail, though)
Oh, DUH. I’m so dumb…I even read Pygmalion just a few weeks ago, and totally forgot that this comic was Pygmalion, too, albeit in space. ^_^ *shakes head sadly at self’s obliviousness*
Hahaha! That is so awesome! What a nightmare for a reasonable person — something with no reasonable explanation.
Math IS fun. I over analyzed the statue… And I think it is stationary! So she’s not a silicon-based life form

Lol! she comes to life.
Reason: What’s your name?
Statueladything: Bactine. U?
Reason: O.O
That’s what I’d be like!
“Hellenistic” made me laugh. Poor Reason…

Have you guys ever *read* or *heard of* Pygmalion? Shaaaaame… -.-
Please no spoilers Rachael!
my mouth is ZIPPED. As of now. O.o

Haha! How dare she exist by herself!
She’s purdy.
And now the webcomic’s title is making muuuuuch more sense.

It’s not so much influenced by Henry Higgins as it is old school Greek Pygmalion.
