The End

Hey Ever’body!

Here’s the thrilling The End Page. Wow, it’s like a 3rd grader drew it or something!

I have a bazillion bukoos of news, here’s to hoping I can remember everything.

FIRST: Here’s that podcast you ordered. Me and Ron talking about everything Lint-related and answering most of your questions. We actually did this on December 23rd, so it’s slightly dated. Some things I left unanswered, because of future Lint possibilities.

SECOND: I got inspired and finished putting Lint into print! I looked into a lot of options, and found that I couldn’t get the same level of quality for any less (at least, not that I found), so I went ahead and finished out the volumes at Lulu. Now available, Lint Vol. 5 and Lint Vol. 6!

THIRD: Lint and my future comic endeavors have just been accepted into the SpiderForest collective~ Buncha great people, over there, I tells ya.

FOURTH: Speaking of future comic endeavors, what about my next work, eh!? Well, it’s titled “Pygmalion in Space” and here it is in embryonic form. Frumph will be creating the site, so you can watch it be built from the ground up (and an fyi; he hasn’t touched it yet. All that nastiness is my own horrible handiwork). In fact, probably everything will change before it actually starts, but now you can watch it evolve until opening day, which, if nothing hitches, should be later this month.

FIFTH: The Comic Creator’s Alliance will start taking donations to stop Human Trafficking on January 11th! This concerns you because… well… human trafficking is bad, and PLUS if you donate you get a nifty wallpaper with art from a ton of webcomic artists, including myself.

SIXTH: Is something I forgot!

Anyway, Thanks for reading, thanks for being around and for all the support. See you soon!

Love,

Colby

When Push Comes To Shove

Man, I always miss drawing Sangwine. Es muy pretty! After switching scenes, I have now come to realize I doubt Sangwine will ever be capable of reaching the angsty heights of his older brother. Who knows, though? Anything can happen.

Thank you to everyone who has donated! I’ve got some generous readers, I kid you not. I am even further endeared towards what I am pretty sure is the best bunch of readers any webcomic artist has. I am not biased.

If you don’t know what all this donation broo-ha-ha is, then you can read this, and then you can join the countless generations of humankind who have patronized the arts throughout time. Or, you know, do something less epic. It’s up to you.

Thanks for reading and voting, look for a new incentive this weekend.

Scene change, whee-hah! I ended up splitting the Fangstfest into two parts.

And so it goes, and so will you soon I suppose

Holy angst! Luckily I ended up splitting this scene in two, so it ends here until a later date and I can get all primed and ready for more Zed & Fang after switching gears a few times.

You might notice there is a mysterious donation bar to your left which has appeared. To read my tale of woe, either scroll down or click here. When it took me an hour and a half to get my computer turned on and working properly yesterday morning, I panicked. Also, the donation bar doesn’t seem to work right, as it isn’t reflecting the current donations (which are appreciated greatly!!). I guess I’ll have to find one that works! Every bit helps, so if you do like Lint, consider donating. Smiley faces.

NaNoWriMo is over and I lost! I lost miserably!! No, actually I feel great because I got further than I did last year, even making it past the halfway point! I fully intend to continue Henry’s tale until it’s finished, so look for at least a chapter a week there. Many of you won NaNo and to you, I am duly impressed. Someday I’ll do it. At this rate it won’t be until the year 2020, but when we’re all driving around in hovercars and eating holographic food I’ll raise my fists to the sky and bellow my futuristic triumph. Something to look forward to, anyway.

Thanks for reading,

Panhandling

Hey everybody, I’m getting run into a corner by the bad timing of my failing computer.

The Story: I’ve been using the same computer since the year I started Lint. Yes indeed, it’s oooooooooooold, as Lint is turning 5 in a month. If you saw it, you’d laugh your head off. It’s been jimmy-rigged so many times wires are hanging out everywhere and it looks like the terminator after being shot with a rifle. If it was functioning properly I wouldn’t care, but I’ve done all I can to keep it going and I know when a computer’s in its final death throes. It could be any day for this one as those blue screen shut-downs are getting more and more common. Every time I use it I feel like I’m playing Russian roulette, so now I’m scrambling to make hard copies of everything I don’t want to lose on my hard drive, and when I bother to do that, you know it’s bad. Problem is, I’ve just moved (expensive), and Christmas is upon us (also expensive). How can I possibly justify buying new equipment for something that is a hobby? Guh.

Some of you guys know I’m always trying to validate my hobby to Ron, who notices when I’m busy painting for hours each night or on afternoons or Saturdays instead of doting on him. He likes Lint, but it makes things a whole lot easier when it pays for itself. Plus, I just had to replace my tablet and scanner, if you recall, as they got ruined in the move.

So … fund raiser time! If you like Lint and want to help me continue to create it, consider giving a small donation using the donation button on the right sidebar. Donations will be gratefully accepted through December! For my part, I’ll make sure to update twice a week throughout the month, unless my computer dies, and we’ll just cross our fingers on that one. Anything extra (if there is any) will be put into my hosting costs for next year.

One last incentive: If I reach my goal, the person with the largest donation at the end of the month will receive a special Lint comic made about whatever they would like. Is there something you’ve always wanted to see happen? A character you’d like to see again? A very special demise for Fang? Now’s your chance… within moral limits, of course!! -_-;

Despite hard times, thanks for reading. It’s been one of the biggest blessings in my life to have so many others join me in the story of Lint.

Where Zedwig is suddenly much calmer… OR IS HE.

Also, the new Illusionist’s Apprentice chapter is up, too.

Fly (or Overlord) on the Wall

Hey everybody, hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, and if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving then I hope you… had a great normal, average Thursday. Christmas season is upon us! Arm yourselves with your largest handbags for the beating of other shoppers. If there are any shoppers. Since, you know, we’re going through the next Great Depression and we’re all going to die horribly.

This page was fun to do, because it’s all Zedwig and Fang-y, and I haven’t been working with them long enough in this scene to get worn out by their overemotionalism, plus I got to paint magic, which is always fun. By about page three of this I’ll be all tired from the angst, but it’s always exhilarating at first to work with these two. And this is probably the most angsty/emotional scene they’ve had yet (I’m just getting started).

Fanart alert! This one was sketched by Coffee-Flavored Fate while watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail, because watching MP & THG always inspires BactinexZedwig fanart, why wouldn’t it?

Look out for a new chapter in The Illusionist’s Apprentice this weekend, where Henry and Harriet say goodbye.

As always, thanks for reading!

And, when taken out of context, it’s totally not what it looks like.

Time Goes By

Wow, it feels nice to update. I’ve got some goodies for you during this Thanksgiving week, too.

First, if you’re keeping up with The Illusionist’s Apprentice, there’s a new chapter which explains, more or less, the mystery of why Teitnl loathes unicorns with the burning fury of a thousand, thousand suns.

Nextly, I’ve a couple of fanarts here for yas. First one is by Andrea, pretty much summing up Al’bert’s personality in a nutshell:

Next is one by Erulisse, who seems to be always throwing out some super awesome fanart of some kind or other, and this time she outdid herself with a lovely pencil drawing of Henry and Teitnl. Thanks so much guys!

Also, those who have edited my novel for me, THANK YOU. I need all the editors I can get. The good news is I’ve gotten further on Nanowrimo this year than I ever have, almost reaching the halfway mark and November isn’t even over yet! Imagine that!

Lastly, thanks to Kate Beaton who is hilarious by the way, there are some new Lint readers lately. Welcome and enjoy! This is definitely a friendly place to be on the ‘nets.

Mostly though, thanks for reading.

Ugh

I’m starting to lose my patience with this move. Not only am I still surrounded by boxes, I have some kind of mutant cold and, to top it all off, I injured my left hand somehow during the past weekend’s move. I’m left handed. I’m not sure yet how extensive of an injury it is, but it hurts. I’m on the wall about either working through it, which is usually what I do when I get pains and so on from running, or resting it, which often only weakens whatever body part it is and doesn’t tend to do me much good. Then again, if I try to work it out and end up making it worse that would suck more, so I don’t really know what to do. For those who don’t know I’m a pianist and having an injured hand is BAD. (Plus I can’t draw or write to potential either, but those are just my hobbies)

I don’t want a permanent injury, and in the past five years or so I’d gotten really good at managing my hands, never getting that nasty tendonitis burn, and I’m one of the few pianists in the program at school who sneaked away without obtaining carpal tunnel syndrome in some form or other. I haven’t even had to don a brace for at least 4 years. I might have to now, though. I don’t know.

Anyway, like I said, I’m losing my patience with this move. If I get a hand injury from it on top of everything else I’m going to murder the state of Texas. And if I don’t start getting my regular Lint fix I’m going murder everyone … IGNOMINIOUSLY.

That said, no update today, and I’m more frustrated than you are.
