Here’s the thrilling The End Page. Wow, it’s like a 3rd grader drew it or something!

I have a bazillion bukoos of news, here’s to hoping I can remember everything.

FIRST: Here’s that podcast you ordered. Me and Ron talking about everything Lint-related and answering most of your questions. We actually did this on December 23rd, so it’s slightly dated. Some things I left unanswered, because of future Lint possibilities.

SECOND: I got inspired and finished putting Lint into print! I looked into a lot of options, and found that I couldn’t get the same level of quality for any less (at least, not that I found), so I went ahead and finished out the volumes at Lulu. Now available, Lint Vol. 5 and Lint Vol. 6!

THIRD: Lint and my future comic endeavors have just been accepted into the SpiderForest collective~ Buncha great people, over there, I tells ya.

FOURTH: Speaking of future comic endeavors, what about my next work, eh!? Well, it’s titled “Pygmalion in Space” and here it is in embryonic form. Frumph will be creating the site, so you can watch it be built from the ground up (and an fyi; he hasn’t touched it yet. All that nastiness is my own horrible handiwork). In fact, probably everything will change before it actually starts, but now you can watch it evolve until opening day, which, if nothing hitches, should be later this month.

FIFTH: The Comic Creator’s Alliance will start taking donations to stop Human Trafficking on January 11th! This concerns you because… well… human trafficking is bad, and PLUS if you donate you get a nifty wallpaper with art from a ton of webcomic artists, including myself.

SIXTH: Is something I forgot!

Merry Christmas!!

I actually have a “The End” page that I’ll put up in a few days after people have had a chance to see this final page.

It’s been weird finishing this story, I have to say, and there are still a number of loose ends, but this is about as conclusive as it can get without there being an insincere and delirious happy ending. It’s been a long learning experience, and check back once in a while because Ron and I will be posting a podcast ASAP to answer your questions and reflect.

Thank you all for reading; the wonderfulness of you guys are what made Lint happen in the first place. Without readers, I never would have drawn 440 pages of this, because without someone to share it with, what’s the point? I appreciate the vast number of kindnesses I’ve received from you all over the years.

Look forward to and check for the podcast, which I will post a link for here once we complete it. Things that will be in the podcast will include:

• In-depth analysis of plot points and character motivations/personalities
• Answers to all questions from you readers
• Creative webcomic-like plans for the future

I already feel the weird pinch of the dearth finishing Lint and its associated book has made in my brain, like a hole that needs to be filled, but with what?

Lastly, as I’ve been doing this for nearly six years (would have been 6 years on January 14th!) and have managed to finish this epic, I’m going to throw out the tip jar. So, if you’ve enjoyed Lint and would like to show some appreciation, here’s your chance:

EDIT: Okay so here are my announcements and/or news:

First, I’ve been meaning for a while to pimp Kez’s comic for all her helpfulness. If you want to know about what to do when you go to a convention and you have no experience, she’s your person. I haven’t read all of her comic, but she’s a stellar gal, so check her out.

Second, though I didn’t manage to have the time to attend the Dallas Webcomics Expo in November, I was featured in a recent article in Dallas Art News, wherein I created my own version of Klimt’s “The Kiss”.  Enjoy, yes.

Also, as an aside, thanks to Michelle/Spas for sending such a sweet package ~ I got it! Lovely books, and the letter made me sniffle. I do have the best, most thoughtful readers ever.

So I’ve got one page left, after which I will create a podcast for your listening pleasure wherein I will expound on my plans regarding future creative endeavors. Thanks for reading!

EDIT: Now I am no longer too tired for news and/or commentary. This page is based off of the events in Chapter 2 of Bactine Gallagher: Corn Miner’s Daughter, which is a prequel to the comic itself. It isn’t necessary to read it to understand what’s going on here, but if you’d like further illumination about the event, you can read it here.

I’ve always liked first meetings, as they’re always strange and full of fate. When Ron and I first met, (he remembers it, but I don’t really) I was walking through a building and he was getting some lunch in one of the rooms. I was in a hurry.

“Aren’t you Colby Roberts?” he asked me as  I passed.

“What? Yeah,” I said. He smiled in a very friendly way.

“I’m Ron Purcell, Kristen’s and Ben’s brother.”

“Oh,” I said, not really caring. “Hi.”

And I left.

Thus began a period of about a year wherein we despised each other before realizing we actually make really really good best friends.

He still gives me a hard time about it to this day, how I blew him off. Good times.

Btw – I’ve updated quite a bit on the Fang novel, since it’s NaNoWriMo!

No, they’re not dressed up as anything but themselves… so is this a proper Halloween picture? I don’t know, but vines have always creeped me out; any kind of vine, with the way they grow all over everything in their creepy slow reaching way. Guh!

Plus! It’s another weird Fang/Zedwig picture that is not easily deciphered! I had a creative explosion last night, and this came out.

Well, it was fun to paint. I tried to do one of those nifty make a video of your art process things, but it didn’t come out   If any of you have tips on the technical aspects of making one, let me know.

Fanart to come tomorrow, when I’m not getting dragged away.

A few people have mentioned wanting to know Ellinya’s story. It is possible that it may be revealed at some future point. Some things I have planned and am ready to announce:

- Various Shades of Fangline will be my NaNoWriMo novel for this November, so it will get a lot of love once November hits. It isn’t going to be about just Fang and Zedwig, but will also be about Xylic and Sangwine, and probably some Al’bert and Camilla.

- An intermittent short form (~20-30 pages long) comic story which is not related to Lint that I will be revealing more info about during the podcast.

- A podcast with Ron and I to answer any lingering questions and to discuss future endeavors. Post your questions here and it will be recorded after the last Lint page is posted (#441).
