Just kidding! I apologize for getting this out late, but I did work on it. For hours. Every day. It just took a long time to make this one, every step took longer. More poses, more frames, more detail, more variegated backgrounds, a filter for the light, so on and so forth. Still not happy with parts of it, but it was either live with some flaws or take yet another hour to fix. This is the last chapter, though, so I want to linger on it, doling out some extra love.

I was working on this and wondering, why oh why is this taking me so long to make, when I used to make comics all the time with this many frames? The difference, I realized, is that I put a lot more detail into my lineart now. Here’s an example for comparison: Blah! I love that fourth panel where Al’bert slinks. LOVE IT. Anyway, much less detail in pretty much everything there. And whole lot more dialogue. Tons of dialogue is nice because it covers up a lot of art, which in turn lets my lazy artist side not have to paint as much. SECRET OF THE TRADE?

Anyway, Lint is now in the finals for this whole TGT Webcomics thing and for your votes I am hugely grateful. Eben07 is going to be very tough to beat; they got more votes than Lint in the semi-finals against their opponent. The rules have changed; a person can vote once every 12 hours, so twice a day.     I think that this page is possibly sadder than the previous page in which Bactine died. D= Ish so sad!

    Meanwhile, Sang wears spectalces!?!?!?!?!?!? Gotta love that! XD <3

    You know ... this is probably going to sound rather inane, but I actually rather like how your art progresses from "basic" (that "basic" being better than I could ever hope to draw) to "richly detailed". It kind of creates the effect of someone telling this story from their memory - the old parts are foggy and maybe have a little room for embellishment, but the memories are more vivid the more recent they are, until you get to current times (the end of the story) and the details are all around you, making your story that much more real and rich.

    Oh, it's all so very heavy, and detailed...we get a sense of how much has changed, just by reading 'three months later' and then looking through all of this...it doesn't get any better, and it doesn't get any easier, no matter how hard we wish.

    Depends on your definition of "better". He has his country back, his people are no longer in danger, and while ruling a country means dealing with endless bureaucracy, it also means being able to ensure peace. Despite the sacrifices, they won the most important prize.
    The pain takes a very, very long time to dull, though.

    Eep! Three months later and Bactine is still dead! This does not bode well... The extra time you put into the page really shows. The colouring is especially lovely.

    And Sang's reading glasses = win.

    What ever are you talking about, dear? In my opinion you have, what the kids today refer to as, teh mad skillz. Then AND now.
    I'm prone to long-windednes so in an effort to be brief, I suppose the main points I would like to express are: "you draw good" and "I like" and "keep drawing"

    I literatelly started crying at this, because I was pratically praying that Bactine would some how come back, and not be really dead. But, it's been three months. Sangwine is still sad. And she probably dead.

    I love all the backgrounds, Colby ... and that portrait that we just see the corner of behind Sang ... do I recognize that shade of green?
