Zedwig may not have liked the rule-reading guy, but I sure did. xD That whole list had me cracking up. He sort of looks like the Wiz.
I like how Derf and Zedwig are in concert about this whole duel thing. It's almost as absurd as the bees.

the two of them being in concert is indeed absurd as the bees, lini. derf seems to understand what drives zedwig, though, and that is equally unreasonable, still i like it. and i love it that you all figured out that the rules-guy was the wiz, you must be right about that – ha! i despise puns and agree with his rules, though riddles often seem to be involved in battles of wits, but it's hilarious that zedwig disappeared him, whether he was killed or not (we can't be sure about that unless colby says so – he could have been merely transported to a grassy field where james was waiting to finish him off after he's done with hope – hope will survive though! ha!). one thing that bothers me on these black and white panels is that without color, zedwig is not noticeably different in appearance from sangwine. confusing!

As is the case with many gray-scale mangas. However, there are definite set physical differences between the two which you may not realize until you see them side by side.

I'd actually only noticed that when you switched to grayscale. There's probably others, but that one jumped on me and is good enough to tell. I think we'd just been paying too much attention to all the pretty hair awesomeness going on around LinT. ^^

Sangwine's face is significantly more angular and square in the jaw and chin. And eyebrows are thicker. Manlier features, at least for an elf.
These last few pages have been hilarious! Especially lighthearted considering all the dying.

What a way to fight a war–the 'duel sur la wits'. Of course, Derf has the upper hand here, being so widely read, but Zedwig has his own 'wits' about him–how else could he have survived so long, even with Fang's favoritism/need of him? I guess this was the only way they could compete against each other without Zedwig completely killing everyone…if Fang was around, this wouldn't be around. Well, when the cat's away, the mice will play–or duel.
And, of course, the Wiz had to be there–just to get his comeuppance, and a few laughs. He's got that annoying attitude down-pat–even on the comics' page, you can tell.
