I think part of this glee is just coming from a kind of....morbid King's Quest VI kind of catharsis. The line "I can feel his nastiness leaving me!" shot to mind!! (Zedwig isn't a genie and Fang isn't an evil advisor trying to take over the kingdom, nooo...) All the nasty magic damage -did- leave him! Could be a post that Euphoria.

On a side note....panels 2 and 3 best ever, Zedwig is officially the best character in my opinion! So many levels....

Why do I sense a bit of soul-swap here? Zedwig seems entirely too ... *Cheerful*, considering what just happened in that last burst of magic... or DID it?

She is when she's about to teach someone a lesson the hard way... I seem to recall her being quite cheerful when she was just about to dish up a heaping helping of Kick-@$$... but I may have to read the archives again to be sure... (Oh... Darn. :P )

I love Zedwigs sarcastic "Yes, MASTER". And Zedwig looks so evilly gleeful in the third panel, I love it!! I just imagine him jumping and dancing around and childishly saying "You're going to diiiiie, your going to diiiiie, I'm going to dooo it, I'm going to doooo it"

Whoa! Is that perspiration on Fang in the last panel? I think Zedwig is starting to get to him. ^_^

did anyone else giggle a little at that whole 'im going to kill you' GRIN bit of Zedwig in panel 3? because i did. and instead of really doing something about it, fang is just 'i own you' as if he isnt concerned at all.

Actually I was just thinking, it seems to me that aside from world domination, Fang seems hell bent on retaining his power and control over Zedwig because it keeps him tied to him, even if its against his will. Kind of like...Misery, inflicting pain on her captor to keep him dependent on her, even though she claims to adore him and so forth. You know some people do the most horrible things in an effort to keep someone by their side.

Misery...not the name of the Kathy Bates character (That's Annie Wilkes). Name of the character created by the author--which Annie Wilkes loved so much. "You murdered my Misery!"

Yeah, you know what I'm talking about...

Zedwig's grin about killing Fang made me grin so much.

It's almost like it's Fang's use of the commands/earring, rather than the actual destructive magic that wears Zedwig so thin- by the 3rd to last panel he already seems a tiny bit aged (just in that his expression reverts immediately to what it was before).

Panel 2 was glorious and I want it imprinted on my retina forever. Panel 3 is hilarious (almost moreso than it is adorably creepy), and panel 4 is filled with frantic, plot-filled intensity. It's as though Fang's using the last of his will to re-exert control over Zedwig... very emotional and visceral. Also, Fang seems pretty alarmed in the last panel.

And *what is this mysterious thing he must do????*

Wow, it's great seeing Zedwig so..full of life!!! As he's gleefully foretelling Fanline's death... hehe.

Well, that's not creepy/disturbing at ALL. "You are going to die. And I am going to be the one to do it! *happiness*"

Zedwig looks so AWESOME in the second panel. The expression is so out of character and so utterly amazing! I love that fifth panel too! Aww forget it, I love the entire thing! I can't believe this is the last page in this chapter! How is Sang going to be?!

TEITNL would surely not like it, but you might, Colby. It's a lovely animation, and several excellent voice talents, along with a nice soundtrack. (I do admit that I have a deep rooted weakness for 80s folk ballads, so your mileage may vary.)

Based on a book by Peter S. Beagle...read the book not too long ago, very short and sweet--about 120 pages. I had seen the movie when I was little, but I couldn't remember much--maybe I'll see it again soon.

Zedwig looks amazing this page. Even better than usual.
I'd love to see Fang take a walk off that balcony though. You've actually made me hate a villain. That hardly *ever* happens.
