So if Elements 4.0 worked with an earlier Windows version you select it to run in that Windows version mode and it'll work again! (Hopefully, it worked with Painter Classic for me.) And also, wow, what a sweet couple you are! Maybe a little late now, but if you right-click on the icon for a program and select “Properties” there's a tab called “Compatibility” or something like that which lets you select a compatibility-mode. So if Elements 4.0 worked with an earlier Windows version you select it to run in that Windows version mode and it'll work again! (Hopefully, it worked with Painter Classic for me.)
