I saw that movie once, in the middle of the night, and I slept through half of it. I had to go look up who Norrington is.

Come to think of it they do make a VERY lovely couple…

I am not a person who typically comments on things, but holy crap, that little smooch made life worth living! And during finals week, that is really saying something.

Summarization of that scene in POTC 3–

Elizabeth gets captured by baddies. Norrington is with the baddies, but isn't really “one of them.” He decides to help Elizabeth escape(because he still loves her, even when Liz chose Will over him). Elizabeth accuses Norrington of being part of a plot in which her father dies. Norrington says he has nothing to do with it, “but that does not absolve me of my other sins….” Liz tells him to come join her side. before Norrington can reply, a baddie crew guy (actually not bad, but …anyway…) catches sight of them. Norrington tells Liz to hurry up and that he'll follow. Liz doesn't believe him. “Our destinies have been entwined,” he says to her, “but never joined.” And they kiss, Elizabeth in all appearance forgetting poor Will.

Norrington later dies.

All right, I'm must be horrible at paralleling…Al'bert isn't going to die, I hope. He's a better character than Norrington.

But she betrays him by cuffing him to the ship. In this case…

Personally, I just love how she's hanging on for dear life and he has his hand on his hip like he saw it coming. As if to say, 'Hmm. Well. This is interesting. Took her long enough.'

THIS was not expected! …I don't know what to say about this. I suppose it would be a decent alternative, seeing as she can't ever be w/ Sanguine thanks to their picky bloodline. Or maybe she's just trying to convinvce him not to be the stupid distraction by using drastic measures.
Either way, this gets a shock factor of +10! Congratulations! 8D

Am I the only one who DID read Al'bert's expression as surprised? I can't pin down what it is in his face that makes me think so, but the hand sealed it for me. I don't think it's resting on his hip, unless he has a pretty short torso and his belt falls below his hips. I read that has fingers splayed in a “wah huh?” gesture.

Of course I could be wrong. As for Bactine… I like the idea that perhaps she is putting a protective spell on him. I also think that for Bactine, anger and passion are rather intertwined (look at her courtship with Sangwine afterall) and that sometimes she can't/doesn't differentiate the impulses.

Good grief, it's like some kind of curse….Bactine will end up somehow romantically involved with any male who is 50% or more elf that she hangs around with for more than a few days.
