Panhandling

Hey everybody, I’m getting run into a corner by the bad timing of my failing computer.

The Story: I’ve been using the same computer since the year I started Lint. Yes indeed, it’s oooooooooooold, as Lint is turning 5 in a month. If you saw it, you’d laugh your head off. It’s been jimmy-rigged so many times wires are hanging out everywhere and it looks like the terminator after being shot with a rifle. If it was functioning properly I wouldn’t care, but I’ve done all I can to keep it going and I know when a computer’s in its final death throes. It could be any day for this one as those blue screen shut-downs are getting more and more common. Every time I use it I feel like I’m playing Russian roulette, so now I’m scrambling to make hard copies of everything I don’t want to lose on my hard drive, and when I bother to do that, you know it’s bad. Problem is, I’ve just moved (expensive), and Christmas is upon us (also expensive). How can I possibly justify buying new equipment for something that is a hobby? Guh.

Some of you guys know I’m always trying to validate my hobby to Ron, who notices when I’m busy painting for hours each night or on afternoons or Saturdays instead of doting on him. He likes Lint, but it makes things a whole lot easier when it pays for itself. Plus, I just had to replace my tablet and scanner, if you recall, as they got ruined in the move.

So … fund raiser time! If you like Lint and want to help me continue to create it, consider giving a small donation using the donation button on the right sidebar. Donations will be gratefully accepted through December! For my part, I’ll make sure to update twice a week throughout the month, unless my computer dies, and we’ll just cross our fingers on that one. Anything extra (if there is any) will be put into my hosting costs for next year.

One last incentive: If I reach my goal, the person with the largest donation at the end of the month will receive a special Lint comic made about whatever they would like. Is there something you’ve always wanted to see happen? A character you’d like to see again? A very special demise for Fang? Now’s your chance… within moral limits, of course!! -_-;

Despite hard times, thanks for reading. It’s been one of the biggest blessings in my life to have so many others join me in the story of Lint.
