Writing and Voting!

Hey everybody, guess what? It’s November 1st already, and that means NaNoWriMo has begun! Listen to the sound of furious clacking keyboards everywhere! Keep up with how I’m doing here, and maybe we can encourage each other here.

In other news, and this is really big, I’ll have to admit that I left the voting arena because adult and pornographic comics were listed in the same listing as mine. Near mine. Where anyone could click it. I don’t think that’s cool. But Frumph did something about it! His listing no longer lists adult/NC-17 comics in his webcomic list and I think that’s the awesomest thing ever. So if you want to support this kind of positive movement, please vote for Lint with the Frumph voting button to the right. Also, if you register at Frumph and favorite Lint, my comic rating gets a big boost! Let’s see if we can get Lint to #1 and really make a statement about how we support this kind of responsibility in webcomic lists!

(EDIT) – Enjoy reading my NaNo novel unfold here.

    Huzzah for NaNo!

I'm glad Frumph's got a clean comic listing – that's fantastic! Off to vote, now….

    Also, I <3 your icon.

Several things I wish to speak on! =D
    1) The Princess Bride RULES, and those are unbelievably perfect matches. XD Thanks for the great treat!
    2) I am also attempting to do NaNoWriMo; my first-ever serious attempt. (I've known of it for years, and even started to try it in 2007, but it's never panned out before.) This time, though, I knew about it a good week in advance! =D Plus I already have a book I wish to write, so this is as good an excuse as any to get off my keister. I will be sure to check out your novel, as it is sure to be a good one. (After all, I'd say you've more than proven your writing skills by now. And the humor potential alone…this will be a lot of fun! =D)
    3) I was so moved and pleased to read that you are moving to a list that actually refuses to put adult comics on their webcomic lists. That is so great! I'm always paranoid when browsing webcomics because half of them can be downright trashy, so it is great to know of a site that doesn't support those! And it is wonderful to find another artist/writer who doesn't want to be associated w/ such mature content, and wants to make these lists safe for kids. I hope you get that #1 slot!

Keep up the great work on LinT! And good luck w/ NaNoWriMo!

No kidding. If only Buzzcomix and TopWebcomics would follow suit…

You're very welcome! ^^ Aw, thanks!

Oh, quick question: how do I go about voting on Frumph? I followed the link you provided to the site, but I can't find where you actually vote for the comics.

Just click on the voting button in the right sidebar —->

Ah, alright! I didn't know if it actually registered a vote when you pressed that, since it takes you right to the site and doesn't say if your vote counted. Thanks for clearing that up for me. ^^

A great tip from a friend of mine is to bring documentation, or examples of students' work from previous experiences to job interviews. This allows a more comprehensive vision of what you can bring to an art-making situation.
