Vote Incentive is Up

Aaaaaand, it’s a preview of a wallpaper of Hope I’m working on, maybe offering a bit of insight into how I do my flesh tones. Then again, she’s looking awfully purple, and I’ll probably tone it down a little. She just brings out the pink and purple in me, and I don’t know why!

colby, your readers could help with this by transcribing your comics for oh no robot, which would make searching the archives pretty simple. http://www.ohnorobot.com/

i am sorry about my bad attitude toward frumph. if he helped make things easier for you, i guess that's all that matters. ignore how i feel about the website, which is really just there for hosting the comic. irking you is not my intention or aim. i feel that so often things are 'improved' and 'updated' more frequently than necessary, not just here, or with comics or websites, but in real life, everywhere, when often things were fine or perfect the way they were, from the standpoint of the users/customers/and so forth. i don't like the font or the new right or upper nav design and i don't like it that the comments, which i also found hilarious, were lost. you commented on that recently and i agreed - your readers are funny and insightful and their thoughts on the comic were of value - this made it a pleasure for me to review the archives, as i would read user comments and not just the comics. barb of xylia did this recently too (unfortunate site redesign which deleted all user comments) and i had the same reaction, though i said nothing. you know i think the world of you and your art, but i am blunt/frank/honest and that's when i like things as well as when i do not.

if you want to see my online work and critique it, i am happy to share it on an individual basis, but it is not what you might consider art.

Yep, I'm glad the archive is back up too. Although I have the same problem with it as I did before, which is that it's in reverse order and there are no spaces between the chapters so you can tell them apart easily. But I've only used the archive a few times, so it's no big deal.
  • I trying to help that a little bit as I'm retitling the archives by putting the chapter titles all in caps, with no number (ie #345 and so on). Hopefully that'll help somewhat.

With archives as large as mine I don't really know of a way to make it altogether easy to pilfer through, but if you've got any ideas I'd like to hear them!

Well, I'm glad you got the archive page back up. I was afraid you wouldn't, and the drop down thing that lists number of pages per month . . . that just wasn't working for me. Generally, when I visit the archive, it's to find a favorite page again, so I need an archive page with the titles to do that. But it looks like that will be returning, so I have no complaints anymore.
  • Yep, it wasn't working for me either, but that was just one of a few gadgets Frumph put up for me to show me my options. That sort of thing probably works better for actual blogs.

The titles are all going back up, but it's very time consuming and that's why they're not all up yet. I'm doing about a year's worth per day. (I'm up to 2006)

i'm sorry - i really hate the new website - not just the lost blogs and comments (yes, mostly that) but the nav bar fonts, the tag cloud? and well, it's just generally a total loss from my perspective. if it really does make your life easier, that's all that matters though, so i'll forgive frumph, but gratitude is beyond me. feel free to delete this post - i know it's unworthy, but i can't help myself.

to colby i pledge eternal gratitude, however. your commitment to this comic -regardless of what's going on in your personal life - is a thing of wonder. we don't need the fancy new hair or all the details (though they show that you rank with the best - and how much you've improved since you started this comic!) - your simpler art style is still totally beautiful, not just adequate. as is the hope picture, what an awesome and new perspective on her. lovely. of course she has more facets than we've seen so far, especially according to your awesome definition of fairy.
  • I don't understand what there is to "really hate". It's almost identical to the site as it was before, except everything works now, and the navigation is vastly superior. I keep the tag cloud because I like a floaty cloud thing on my site. If you want to access the archives in the identical way you did before, just click "Archives" on the sidebar. It's that easy.

Yes, the comments were lost, although I do have many of them. I'm working on trying to restore them. I'm also still working on getting everything finished (archive titles, fanart, etc.) I am also moving in a week, thankyouverymuch.

I know you're trying to show your opinion, but saying you HATE it is a little extreme, and frankly I find it both bizarre (because it's not that different than it was before) and offensive. Yes, I know you're trying to blame it on Frumph, but he didn't do anything without my consent. He spent hours working on it. Many hours. For no reason except to be nice. He did a wonderful job. He streamlined everything. He made my comic navigation a whole lot more user-friendly, and made it way easier for me to update/maintain the site.

There's a different font in one place. Oh no, a tag cloud, too! It's all over! Noooooo! :)

    C'mon.
